<image:caption>Our goal at Homewood Pediatric Dentistry is to provide a dental home for kids to grow from birth to high school graduation that is comfortable, fun, engaging, respectful and kind while providing excellent dental care and education to achieve life-long dental health and positive attitudes about the dental office. We aim to give parents the appropriate time and attention to ask questions in order to fully understand their child's dental health and treatment options as well. We welcome parents being present in the hygiene or treatment rooms if they desire as this increases patient comfort and communication between parents and the dental team.</image:caption>

We offer a wide range of children's dental services including: exams, cleanings, radiographs, fillings, silver crowns, white crowns, extractions, and space maintainers. The most important services we offer are preventative services including: anticipatory guidance, nutritional education, proper oral hygiene habits/techniques, fluoride application, sealant placement. When needed, we offer sedation options including: laughing gas, in-office IV sedation, and general anesthesia at Children’s of Alabama.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Dr. Caitlin Reaves</image:title>
<image:caption>Dr. Reaves grew up in Auburn and attended Auburn University. After she graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2012, she worked for the Indian Health Service on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona for two years as a general dentist. During that time, Dr. Reaves gained extensive experience in public health, emergency dentistry, oral surgery and endodontics. She then completed pediatric dentistry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina where she trained in dental care for special needs patients, assessment/treatment of growth and development problems, administering oral/parenteral conscious sedation and providing hospital based dental treatment with patients receiving general anesthesia. Dr. Reaves stayed in South Carolina for more than 4 years in a large pediatric dentistry private practice and was on the board for the South Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Reaves and her husband, Mason, decided in the fall of 2020 that it was time to move back to Alabama with their two young children, Henry and Lucy, to be closer to family. Homewood is a coming-home for Dr. Reaves and Mason as this is where they met in 2010. Dr. Reaves hopes to be an asset Homewood, Birmingham and the surrounding rural communities. Her passion is forming relationships with patients and their families by building trust so they can work as a team to help each child achieve life-long good oral health. Dr. Reaves is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a Pugh Award winner, which is unique achievement only given to pediatric dentists who scored in the top 3% on the written board exam.</image:caption>
